The Henry County Prevention Coalition features several programs, services, and information packages designed to help increase awareness, educate, and empower the community in the fight against the products, habits, and addictions that result in life altering consequences. These consequences affect the individual, the family, and ripple throughout the fabric of the community.

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT:
​HOME AND SCHOOL

This program recreates the bedroom of a typical teenager to test parents' knowledge of common items indicating drug or alcohol use. Increase your home detective skills!
​
​We also can create a school desk setting for educators to become more aware of the subtle signs of drug or alcohol use.

UNUSED/EXPIRED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS

Unused, expired, or unwanted Prescription Drugs are dangerous to keep around the home. Open invitations for theft and abuse! Turn the drugs in!
Henry Co. produces 955 lbs. of unused/expired RX drugs annually.*

CIGARETTE & VAPE DANGERS EXPLAINED

HCPC has information available regarding the dangers of cigarette smoking and vape usage, and the high risks teens and young adults face using these highly addictive products.
From lung and brain damage to other long-term health risks, it is important that parents and teens/young adults become aware of the dangers of these products, including second-hand exposure.

OPIOID INFORMATION AND OVERDOSE PREVENTION

Opioid information, overdose prevention, and training on these subjects is available through the HCPC.

​Training includes using Naloxone, an opioid antagonist, that can safely reverse an opioid overdose. For more information about this information, program, and training opportunities,

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OR TEXTING

Tennessee leads the nation in 'distracted driver' caused deaths with a rate 5 times higher than the national average. 
The HCPC has information available, including a wrecked vehicle display (in assoc. with the Henry County Sheriff's Department), to drive home the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol or texting.

RESPONSIBLE BEVERAGE
​SERVICE TRAINING

RBST is available through regularly scheduled classes designed to help businesses and employees better understand how to sell alcohol responsibly. ​This is an educational resource certified by TopShelf.
